EPIC LAND pushes the boundaries of what an urban theme park can be.
By leveraging Disney's expertise and techniques of entertainment space design, EPIC LAND gives Los Angeles a full day of immersion into the world of Epic Games IPs in one building.

Mission Statement

In the course of a one-year research studio, each student focused on crafting a personal "Mission Statement" during the first 4 months. They are brief statements that define critical architectural concepts with clear, measurable goals. The role of a mission statement is to objectively define the core competency of an individual as a designer.

By creating my mission statement, I was able not only to establish a solid conceptual spine that later served as the foundation for a more detailed design process but also to clarify who I am as a designer and what I want to accomplish throughout my life.

Storytelling Landscape

Epic Land building consists of permeable cells and the canyon spaces between them. It has a series of different landscape experiences driving a story of the entire building and guide your way throughout the day. Those landscape experiences take place in the canyons.

Structure

The building masses are covered with triangular and circular shape trusses, which shift from south to north while two other structure systems generated through Grasshopper are creating different experience within the canyon spaces.
